Movie Review: How To Lose Friends & Alienate People

Genre: Comedy
Starring: Simon Pegg, Megan Fox, Kirsten Dunst, Danny Huston, Gillian Anderson, Max  Minghella, Jeff Bridges
Director: Robert B. Weide

Sidney is a disillusioned person who both adores and despises the world of celebrity, fame, glitz and the glamour. His magazine, Post Modern Review, Makes fun at the media obsessed stars and bucks trends, and so when Young is offered a job at the diametrically opposed conservative New York based Sharps magazine its something of a shock! It seems Sharps editor Clayton Harding is amused by Young's disruption of a post-BAFTA party with a pig posing as Babe. Thus begins Sidney's descent into success - his gradual move from derided outsider to confidante of starlet Sophie Maes - and a love affair with colleague Alison Olsen, that will either make him or break him.

DannyBoy's Review

Absolutely brilliant movie! Simon Pegg's portrayal of Sidney Young is just so fantastic, and the perfect British actor to portray a funny, arrogant Sidney which is perfect, as his character in the movie is a newbie into the media world.

The storyline is great as it can be related to real life as it shows how someone's dreams can be fulfilled if you just do your best and someone times you meet those people who are just a nuisance and always looking to piss you off, but as you persevere you can go higher and be more successful than other people. And also that you someones get people who are willing to help you in the workplace to help you fit in.

The one of the biggest lessons that I can take away from  this movie is that when you have an idea you have to stand firm and believe in your own idea in order to get your idea across and make people understand your idea.. or else it will be ignored or think of as a useless idea, but if they did thought that, then don't take it too much but take it as an encouragement and motivation to do better and analyse what went wrong and this will ultimately make you a stronger and better person.

My rating?

7.5 /10

Its a fantastic and brilliant movie! Hilarious!
